Jim Farrish - Music Pastor

Jim has served as the Music Pastor at Country Woods since January 2000.  He was born in Rolling Fork, MS and grew up in Yazoo City.  Jim surrendered to the ministry at age 19 while finishing his Electronics Degree at Holmes Technical College.  He then went on to earn his Bachelors of Music Education from Delta State University.  He has been married to his best friend Laurie for 32 wonderful years.  They have 2 daughters (Mitzi and Vicki), 2 son-in-laws (Brett and Jamie), and 4 grandchildren (Layni, Tyler, Keaton, and Embree).  Jim's desire for Country Woods is that we would be a worshiping people, compelled  by the person of Jesus and His Gospel.  His hope and prayer is that our community would see our worship lived out in the way we sing, serve, give, and display the Gospel.  Jim loves spending time with his family, hunting, riding 4 wheelers and traveling to the mountains.

Daily verse: Psalm 25:4-5 - "Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.  Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."

Life verse: Romans 12:1-3 - "Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice---alive, holy, and pleasing to God---which is your reasonable service.  Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God---what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.  For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith.
